Midnight RideUSA 1991Starring: Mark Hamill, Michael Dudikoff, Robert Mitchum Synopsys: Start out with a lovely lady who is not happy in her marriage to a police officer: he's married to his job. Lawson, the officer, is currently laid up with his foot in a cast. Tonight, he's stuck in front of the TV instead of paying attention to the fact his wife is in the other room packing to leave him. Sounds like normal America in some situations, doesn't it?? Well, normal doesn't exactly describe the rest of Lara's night. She decides to go to her friend's house about two hours away, but she stops to call and leave a message for her hubby. Enter the guy with the cute grin and a Polaroid-type camera (Justin, aka Mark) who 'says' he needs a ride because he just missed the bus. Along this not-so-joy-ride, Lara has to try to sort out the REAL truth in what Justin tells her, from the rest of what he tells her. Their trip through the night involves her car, a cop car, a bus, an ambulance, a taxi, Justin's multitude of personality changes, (talk about a chameleon!!) and his fascination with blood, especially someone else's blood. (Ewwww!) Lawson is determined to get Lara back, but he'll have to get her away from the man who holds her hostage, and that man, Justin McKay, is the biggest challenge of Lawson's career. Next time you drive somewhere at night, lock your car doors and DON'T stop for hitch-hikers, especially ones toting a camera, claiming you remind them of their sister! |
