I met Mark...

... at Dark Horse Comicon. When I heard the first commercial for that event, I was in my car at 3 a.m. (I do graveyard deliveries) and I almost wrapped my car around a tree when they said he was the guest! I COULD NOT believe that he was coming! I ran out and got my tickets that very day. It was a small draw convention, perhaps 400 in all, and Mark was such a fun and fascinating speaker. Talk about funny, and totally charming! And all the while when I was waiting in the autograph line, my stomach was just twisting into knots. It was just a very surreal moment to meet him, like it wasn't happening to me but to someone else. Hard to explain... but I still feel very fortunate that I had this chance, knowing that he simply doesn't do conventions very often (plus I was very impressed that he didn't take a dime for doing it, all proceeds when to the local Dornbecker's Childrens Hospital).
